1. Who We Are

Guest Note Club ("GuestNote", "we", "us") is a certified review platform for hospitality. Our app is published by Sylvain Corvaisier, operating from France. Contact: hello@guestnote.club.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: Your name (from Apple Sign In). We do not collect your email address unless you choose to share it.
• Reviews and feedback: Text, emoji ratings, and photos you choose to submit.
• Wi-Fi verification data: Network name (SSID), and your device's IP address as observed by our server when you submit. We use both only to verify you are on-site at a registered property. The SSID is stored alongside your stay; the IP address is hashed into a network-region fingerprint (ASN/prefix) and the raw IP is not retained beyond request handling. None of this data is shared with third parties.
• Location: Approximate location (when you grant permission) to show nearby properties on the map and to confirm GPS proximity to the property you are reviewing. We do not track your movements between sessions.
• Device token: A push notification identifier used to deliver notifications you have opted into.
• Travel Guide bookmarks: Saved places are stored on your device and synced via your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to this data.

We do not use the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA), do not show ads, do not include third-party analytics SDKs, and do not perform tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To verify you are physically present at a property (Wi-Fi verification).
• To display your reviews to people you have approved (followers only).
• To send you push notifications you have opted into (new reviews, feedback messages).
• To compute gamification metrics (Explorer level, XP) visible on your profile.
• To translate review content using AI when the reader's language differs from the writer's.

4. Who Can See Your Data

Reviews are private by default. Your reviews are visible only to:

• The host of the property you reviewed.
• People who follow you (and whom you have accepted).

Your reviews are never shown publicly, never indexed by search engines, and never sold to data brokers or advertisers.

5. Photos

Photos are captured exclusively through the in-app camera to ensure authenticity. They are uploaded to our servers and stored securely. We display a reminder not to photograph other guests. You may request deletion of your photos at any time.

6. Third-Party Services

• Apple Sign In: For authentication. Apple's privacy policy applies to their service.
• Apple MapKit: For map display and place search. No personal data is sent to Apple Maps beyond your search queries.
• Claude AI (Anthropic): For review translation and place discovery. Content sent for translation does not include your identity.
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): For delivering push notifications.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in France. We use HTTPS for all communications, prepared SQL statements to prevent injection, and restrict database access to application-level credentials only.

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (available in Settings), we:

• Delete your personal information and session tokens immediately.
• Anonymize your reviews (removing your name and identity) so hosts retain aggregate feedback.
• Delete your photos, device tokens, and social connections.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data.
• Rectify inaccurate data.
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") via the Delete Account feature.
• Port your data in a machine-readable format.
• Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time.

10. Children

GuestNote is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
